Garth Hogan's Kittyhawk was first fitted with live .50 cals at Warbirds over Wanaka 2008. Only firing blanks of course. I remember thinking how relatively innocuous the sound of them firing was. Maybe real ammo is a lot louder, but standing in front to experience it would not be wise. I thought I was going to score an expended cartridge case afterwards as a memento but the cleanup crew were too thorough...

Hmmm so how long before someone does this with an AC47 Wasn't there a restored AC47 in the US. Don't think the weapons were live of course.........................
