I have been trying to piece together data on the three airshows this year, Matamata, Tauranga and Wanaka, based on photos and knowledge, but I know there are a lot of gaps on each airshow's entry. Can you help fill gaps of people, registrations and aircraft missing from the list please? www.cambridgeairforce.org.nz/Airshow_History_2010s.html#2016

Hi Dave, a few additions/corrections to the Wanaka 2016 list; the Air Bandits aircraft was the Juka, Vampire ZK-VAM is a T.35, not a T.55, the Casa CN-235 was 066, wearing the codes 52 1D (not 10), the NH-90 was NZ3307, the second Texan II was NZ1405, The A109 was NZ3402, the C-17 wore the tail number 55148. Tiger Moths include ZK-BAA (T-6564), ZK-CCH 'Song of the South' and ZK-BEC (T-7167), which I don't think flew. In the helicopter display there were the following; as well as the MD-500N NOTAR there was Hiller UH-12E ZK-HBL, there was no Alouette, there were three Squirrels, ZK-HYY, ZK-HIH and ZK-HBX, Westland Scout AH.1 XP166 or ZK-HJG, two Colibris - don't know the regos, MBB Bo 105 ZK-HBD, Hughes 369D ZK-HSH, Robinson R-22 ZK- . The following took part in the STOL comp; Bellanca Citabria ZK-CRH, Auster J/1 ZK-AOB, Super Cub ZK-BVJ, two Carbon Cubs ZK- , Murphy Rebel ZK-JQD, Denney Kitfox ZK-ROX, Hornet STOL ZK-JCM and another STOL thingy whose name I can't remember. Skydive Wanaka PAC 750 ZK-ROK dropped the parachutists, Beaver ZK-CKH (NZ6001) was parked on the display flight line as was Devon ZK-ZKF NZ1805, but it didn't fly, along with Bucker Jungmann SE-AIK, Tiger Moth Club Tiger ZK-ALJ outside a hangar on static with its cowls open, WACO YMF ZK-CFL displayed in the vintage fly past, along with Beech D18S N43927. On static display along the flight line there was Mt Cook Ski Planes Cessna 185 ZK-MCV, ex-Nigerian Air Force Mil Mi-34C 'Hermit' NAF557, outside the Pilatus sponsored Titanium Pass stand was Pilatus PC-12 VH-PIL. There were heaps in the aircraft park near the hangars, but didn't have my pen and pad handy (!), but I photographed the following, Vans RV-6 ZK-PRV and ZK-SRV, Vans RV-4 ZK-RVI. I can't tell you pilots as I didn't catch all the commentary, in fact I was trying to drown it out!

The one that flew in the display was HJG. Yep, Zac, indeed it is.
A few additions, RNZAF Kingair NZ7122 was there on Friday and possibly other days, the following PC-12s were there, ZK-PLS, ZK-PLT, ZK-PLZ and ZK-TFL, the Spitfire Mk.26 was ZK-CGV and Convair 580 ZK-CIV was also present. Cessna 195 ZK-BEB was looking rather sorry for itself in its hangar with a bent prop. Yak-52 ZK-TYS was displaying, too.

Thanks very much chaps. As with all the Aircraft Archive entries I am seeking details of the flying participants and official static display aircraft (those on the display flightline or on show in trade stands, etc). I am not really interested in the aircraft park of visiting aeroplanes that people have travelled to the show in like a car.
So these details are great! Many thanks, lots of additions and corrections and filled gaps. If you can confirm if any of the added types were static only, that would be cool.
I never knew there were so many PC12s on the NZ register!

Was there a commentary during the RAAF Hawk display that mentioned pilot names? Trying to help Dave out but need to know if the names are/were publicly announced.

No worries, Dave, I got that info from just looking through my photos. I think the Hawk pilots' names were read out, but I can't remember them.
A few additions/corrections to the list; The second Beech Texan II was NZ1405 (probably a typo, but you've put NZ1495), the C185 and Hermit were static only, L-39 Albatros ZK-CCP was in the active aircraft park, but didn't fly, although it was advertised that L-39s would. The Convair and PC-12s all were transport only, but since Pilatus was sponsoring the event, seemed appropriate to list them. The Aussie one sat outside the Titanium Pass marquee, so was part of the static display. Sport cruiser ZK-SXY was in the static, alongside a gyrocopter (Autogyro Europe Eagle? Not sure of its rego either). In the Yak-52 list, ZK-TYS should be added as it was flying in the display team. The DH.90 Dragonfly wasn't at the show, just the Rapide. Harvard NZ1098 ZK-ENJ was flying also. I think Brett Emeny was flying the Catalina during some of its flights; it seemed to be in the air all day and Ronan Harvey was flying the Beech D18S. The Cub ZK-BVJ is a Super Cub and there was another high wing STOL aircraft, whose name I'm going to have to look up, in the STOL competition. The French Air Force is the Armee de l'Air.

Thanks Les and Grayson.
I know that there were more than one gyrocopter displaying at the Tauranga show but I could not pick up the regos nor do I have any idea what the manufacturer types are.
I never seem to be able to get my head around the Yak 52 team details...
Yes Grant, that is a typo on the Texan II, thanks. I am correcting and adding all the other points. Thanks everyone.

I can recall the pilot was a female named Toni (assumed spelling). Didn't land at Wanaka, was "day tripping" from Chch.

Didn't land at Wanaka, was "day tripping" from Chch. I wouldn't know the names of the crew, but I can confirm the pilot was female (unless a particular ex-weather presenter was telling porkies) because on the Sunday afternoon he claimed on the PA system that the C-17 crew had just arrived from Christchurch after being flown to Wanaka following their display and that the female pilot would be available to talk to anybody who wished to chat to her. I cannot recall the location on the airfield where our [“friend”] Jim claimed she would be though.
