The weather looks sort-of okay for the weekend in Masterton.
The only worry is the forecast nor'wester winds....let's hope they don't get too strong.
And with that, I'm off to Wellywood for the night. Back to Masterton tomorrow afternoon.

• Saturday's weather forecastThis morning, Gene DeMarco was very hopeful for good weather tomorrow. There's a strong possibility the LVG may fly if the winds don't get up. Put it this way....Gene certainly didn't ruled it out when asked if he would be flying it. Take some sunblock with you if you are going to Hood Aerodrome....the sun is going to be fierce.

What is the powerplant? RR Eagle, Liberty or something more modern?

A 400 horsepower Liberty engine.
It's an original engine too.

It is overcast in Masterton today, but dead calm. So it may turn out to be an even better day for day two of TVAL's December flying-weekend provided the wind stays non-existant or of low intensity. That sun was too bloody fierce yesterday, so the clouds will be a welcome change. I'll be heading down the road to Hood in just over an hour.

How did it go today? I'm looking forward to watching those videos and hearing the Liberty run (my laptop has sound issues).

Wow that is so cool! Isn't the only other "living-breathing" Liberty also in a DH-4 in the U.S.?
