Apparently the RNZAF Museum acquired the nose from Dakota NZ3503 back in mid 1980. It still bore the paint it wore whilst with No. 40 Squadron in WWII and also wore its distinctive "Anything, anywhere, anytime" nose art complete with the stork and baby artwork.
Has anyone actually seen this? I'd love to see a photo. What a shame it's not on display in the museum, it must be a true relic with the original nose art on it.
According to Ivan Prince's adf.serials site it says the nose has been loaned out by the musuem. Where to? Anyone know? Is it still on loan?

The nose came from a property in Somerfield-Spreydon and Dave Duxbury was the finder as I recall and I'd suggest that was late 1970s.
It have been converted into a garage with a new wall and doors at the rear end. I recall going to see it and we clambered around and through it but I can't recall what type of car the old guy had.
The logo was faint but not beyond photographing and my best suggestion for a pic would be Dave D from either his own records or the Des White collection, it may have appeared in AHSNZ journal so if Cliff Jenks is out there anywhere I'd advance him as a likely candidate for a piccie as well.

Thanks Denys. One heck of a garage! Great stuff.
I'll drop David a line and see if he has a photo.
