Hi Everyone,
I am currently considering applying to the Navy Reserves either as an MTO Officer or MTO Rating in Auckland (I'm an economist so have a lot of experience with preparation of briefing memoranda and analysis of trade etc).
Anyway, I have spoken with a recruiter today who has advised that the Navy Reserve have no plans to recruit in the near future. I'm just wondering if and when they normally recruit for these roles or is it typically something that is very adhoc and infrequent. Also, do they normally take direct entry officers or is it the case that they typically commission from amongst current MTO ratings.
From what i'm hearing it sounds like there is very little scope for future recruitment with Navy Reserves so I am wondering if I am facing a fairly lengthy wait of a year or two until a role appears.
