The DH50 Auckland Weekly News, 15 September 1927 AVIATION IN NEW ZEALAND: LAST WEEK'S FLIGHT FROM MARLBOROUGH TO WELLINGTON. Sir George Grey Special Collections, Auckland Libraries, AWNS-19270915-47-1 I'm guessing this is the NZPAF DH50 in the fireground? From the Auckland Weekly News dated 29 April 1931 (Sir George Grey Special Collections, Auckland Libraries, AWNS-19310429-44-1) I'm looking for photos of the DH50 and was pleased to find this thread, but less pleased to discover neither of these are showing! Is there any chance you still have them, DaveH?

Thank you, I can see the first two perfectly now! And imagine my surprise to see the photo of the DH50 at Wanganui Airport’s opening!! Wow! I'm guessing this is the NZPAF DH50 in the fireground? From the Auckland Weekly News dated 29 April 1931 (Sir George Grey Special Collections, Auckland Libraries, AWNS-19310429-44-1) This one's still showing as broken, but is it the same Wanganui image?

I have been going through my late mother's photos and found these two. They feature my grandfather William L Harrison, 2nd from left in top photo and 3rdfrom left in bottom photo. The photos are in rough condition but possibly recognizable.
The men of the NZPAF did wear very different uniforms, which would not be acceptable in today's service.
1) I believe they feature a Gloster Grebe. Can that be confirmed? 2) Who are the other air force personnel?
3) When it was taken? I know my grandfather flew a Gloster Grebe ( solo and in the two seater 503) in April 1935 at the 3 Squadron Annual Camp. 4) At the 1935 Annual Camp he also flew a Bristol Fighter and a Hawker Tomtit. Are then any photos of the Tomtit in NZPAF service?
5) I believe that is a an Avro 504 in the background of the first photo. Any info on these two photos would be very much appreciated.

I cannot for some reason transfer photos simply to this website. It is my major gripe with the software of the site. I did use photo bucket, but as we are aware they screwed everybody who did. I have sent by email the photos to Dave to post, but he is not back home until Sunday. So sorry about the delay but it is beyond my control.

Unfortunately photobucket changed their setup so that you now have to subscribe (ie pay) to be able to share photos. Most use flickr. See the problem solving thread for how it works.

I have added in the photos above now, and yes that is a Gloster Grebe.

In the background of the second photo is an Avro 504K.

The last of the NZ military 504s were sold off in 1931, so assuming that was not a civil one (last active 1937/38) that would help date the photo.

morning all,
I see quite a few pics of Gloster Grebes on here. Am I able to get copies or at the very least may I copy these pics? Of course attributing the owner. The intent is to use them on the FB page NZ501 Gloster Grebe.
If you would like to share the pics as photos, again to use on the aforementioned FB page then email nz501glostergrebe@gmail.com
Thank you in advance
Steve
