Here are two shots of Bill Charneys lovely Beech Staggerwing. The photos were taken following the Masterton Airshow The top photo is the one on the front Page of Aviation News and there is an interesting story written about the aircraft as well. It sure was a real pleasure and Ryan.......Thanks again mate Can you spot the Nanchang?

Pretty pix. Nanchang is in the spinner. Taken through the plexiglass?

Very nice. There's something about the Staggerwing, it's a classic.
What are the markings behind the cowl?

It says "The Red Rockette" and I think its comes through the dance troop that Bills daughter belonged to in the US. Very appropriate name

I have been sitting here for about 10 minutes, I looked for shadows on the staggerwing but didn't check the spinner. mmm must be getting close to have an eye test.

Spot on with the comment Gavin, Bill's daughter was a Radio City Music Hall Rockette. That and the play on words for Red Rocket and the idea was born. It was also on the aircraft before it came to us to be restored.
