Dave, I am amazed ! Where do you get this material from? A travesty if it is sent off to the scrappers. Hopefully they shall elicit some real support. Perhaps they could approach Boris Johnson to support the cause. He seems to be a real maverick (if recent events are any judge) and could stir up a lot of interest if he was on board.

Thought that name rang a bell spotted her during a cruise on the Thames in 2014. Sad to hear such stories hope they don’t scrape them all?! Here’s a couple more I spotted, HMS Wellington, according to Wiki, built at Devonport in 1934, served in the Pacific mainly on station in New Zealand and China before the Second World War. HMS Belfast looking resplendent in her admiralty pattern camo. Was told during the cruise she fired some of the first shots on D Day!

Sad if funding can't be raised for this. very sad. The UK has already lost the frigate HMS Plymouth, which fought in the Falklands War, being scrapped a couple of years ago after display for many years. Ships cost money to maintain, though. There's actually one more Great War Royal Navy survivor lurking at South Georgia in the South Atlantic; former HMT Viola, built as a trawler but saw service in the war as a patrol boat and minesweeper, seeing action against a U-boat. It sank in 2004, but was dragged ashore and sits intact near the port at Grytviken.
HMS President was originally named Saxifrage on commission.
Neat pictures, Planecrazy.

"Saxifrage"? Who named it, Yosemite Sam?
What's happened to all the money for WWI centenary projects, surely this vessel should have been well up the queue for that.

Oh no! My favourite example of modern Razzle Dazzle (also probably the only example of modern Razzle Dazzle). I hope the funds will be found to keep her.
