What is the plane behind the Mosquito? Does anyone know. I would like see the Hudson finished in my life time. I'm very happy to see the Viscount now in the hangar, the paint job is very good ( I just love the NAC colours ) and they have the engines on it now.

Thanks for those photos Craig, really nice to see. Especially the Viscount which continues to look lovelier and lovlier every time I see a phot of it. And the Hudson turret now looks like new. Well done to Denys and his team.
I'm not sure about the cockpit Mike, perhaps it is the Sunderland?
Work seems to be progressing on the Hudson. It's certainly interesting to see it in this state though as that old paint is interesting - is the brown paint under the blue, or with it on the same scheme? Denys?

The cockpit behind the Mossie in the ex TEAL Electra nose section. The Sunderland nose is behind the Hudson. Love the little sign on the Hudson's nose! I got some pics inside the Hudson on my visit - it looks immaculate inside!.

Thanks for the kind words guys.
I too want to see the Hudson finished in my lifetime! However I haven't done much if anything on her since october when we all diverted ourselves to BRF to meet the NAC 60th date.
One of our guys, who only joined just as we launched into that task, refers to BRF as his first experience of a 1/1 scale kitset after all those years of playing about in 1/72nd etc. We're now at work on heaps of the small detail stuff (look closely at the engine firewalls and you'll see the myriad of controls etc, and there's a heap in the u/c bays as well) so time vanishes in huge quantities for little progress that's immediately visible.
People are somewhat astounded to learn that the top white and red areas of BRF are Resene commercial paint which has been cleaned, polished and waxed with Meguiars car products. The lower area is Dupont automotive isocyanate which is also to be waxed. Certainly it's wowing the crowds.
We've still got to paint the stbd wing and the unfitted cowls and flaps but we're doing the work that they will largely conceal first given the access afforded by their absence.
You are right Dave the Hudson was delivered to NZ in it's RAF brown/green/sky and the lesser quality RNZAF paints haven't hung on as well as the US factory stuff has.
The sign gets a lot of visitor appreciation which is all good!

Thnaks for that insight Denys. I'd never have guessed that the Viscount isn't in standard aircraft paint. It looks superb, and as it's indoors and well looked after it matters not.
What's the view like from the cockpit of the Viscount? The windows look tiny and it always strikes me that it looks as if it wouldn't be too user freindly on the visual front. Is it better than it seems?
