Wikipedia's page on New Zealanders in the Vietnam war, in the section on the RNZN's contribution, states: "Additionally three RNZN personnel served with the US Navy on a Junior Officer Exchange program in 1971, each posted on the aircraft carrier USS Kitty Hawk (CV-63) and destroyer USS William H. Standley (DLG-32) off the coast of North Vietnam." Does anyone know who these three officer were, what their trade was, and what role they performed on the carrier USS Kitty Hawk? Here's the link: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Zealand_in_the_Vietnam_War#Royal_New_Zealand_Navy_.28RNZN.29

I've forgotten his name but can check that tomorrow, however I recall him mentioning his time on the two ships you have mentioned and I think he held the rank of Ensign. He attended our Anzac Day service this year and was wearing the appropriate Vietnam medals.
