Saw this hanging from the roof in the Doyles Army Surplus shop K-Road. What is it?

Looks like a Radioplane OQ-19/MQM-33 target drone.

I bought my water-tight tool kit from there (aka ammunition box)

There was "Kiwi Surplus" in Christchurch up until the earthquakes, don't know if they are still around, used to be in Columbo St, they might still be in business.
1944/45 a certain woman, Norma Jane Mortenson (known to us as) Marilyn Monroe worked in the Radioplane Munitions Factory, assembling those drones. isc

Somehow I don't think it is a rare Typhoon prop and hub ... but would love to be surprised!!

The powerplant in the target plane would be one of those McCulloch 2-stroke air-cooled flat fours, also fitted in many of the Benson gyrocopters. The propeller in the background has a most interesting hub assembly, reminds me of some types of Aeroproducts (USA) props as seen on Bearcats, Skyraiders and the like, with practically nothing forward of the basic central hub for pitch activation. However I think this particular one might be of European origin, perhaps Russian? David D

The engine is a Righter O-15-1, 2 cylinder, 2 stroke producing 6hp, and powering the drone to 85mph. isc

Looks very much like a 4-cylinder to me, appears to have the HT leads for spark plugs on far side of engine. David D

I wouldn't get too excited Dave, it's a McCauley c/s prop; you'll find these fitted to aeroplanes at most airports. Sorry.

There was a similar kind of drone/radioplane on display at Oshkosh that I saw photos of, being restored (possibly to static). It's neat to see this sort of thing preserved.
Palmerston North had a good surplus shop until about 10 years ago, just around the corner from Mr Models. Even further back I remember visiting one in Taupo with my folks, and always being disappointed they didn't buy me the flak jacket and gas mask I was looking at!

Doyles and Valentines are long gone from Hamilton. I used to pop in occasionally but they never had a lot of interest.

The place is called Army and Outdoors (not "Doyles"), and they also have branches in Hamilton and Christchurch according to their website.
They are worth a visit if only to look at the large amount of historic stuff on display, but most of that isn't for sale. They do sell a range of modern military surplus clothing, especially from NATO forces, as well as more modern commercial copies.

No such business as Army And Outdoors comes up in the White Pages for Hamilton. Only K' Road in Auckland and Woolston down south.

I got the wrong one , the drone in the photo is a newer one, OQ-19D powered by a McCulloch 4318/O-100-2, 4 cylinder 2 stroke producing 72hp, and powers the little drone to over 200mph, it was used post war, up to the 1960s. isc

Grant, Many thanks for putting me right on the origins of that 3-bladed prop, I was certainly a little off-track on that one! David D
