That is pretty bizarre! Who would have believed it had not a photograph been taken of the event! Only minor piece of common sense is that was probably undertaken on a cooler autumn day. David D

Yeah, it sure is weird. I guess the main motivation was to show off to the public that the Navy had aircrew but I'll bet the guys were not too happy about parading in flying kit, haha.
I wonder what the station was near Birmingham that they were attached to.

I wonder what the station was near Birmingham that they were attached to. They were almost certainly naval airmen training at 14 EFTS at Castle Bromwich, Birmingham. Errol
