To have military power, you need economic power.
During the 19th Century (the “British” century), Great Britain had the biggest empire and was the greatest economic power on earth, so was the most powerful nation militarily, with much of that military power being projected via the Royal Navy.
However, the 20th Century gradually morphed into the “American” century while British economic and military power waned, particularly during the second half of that century.
Now we are in the 21st Century and British military supremecy is rapidly receeding into the past as the country continues to decline economically. At the same time, America is a superpower in decline as China rises. I reckon by the mid-21st century, it will turn out to be the “Chinese” century.
