Had the pleasure and privilege of working on the top one when it was at Camden all those years ago. Note that the one in the RANFAA Museum does not have the tail hook. Great museum that one. If you get the chance to see it at Nowra ask if Terry Hetherington is there. He's the curator and one of the nicest most knowledgeable people you could want to meet. All of the exhibits well displayed and well set out with none of the extraneous items crammed in there before. MiG.15UTI there is a nice machine as well. Fond memories of that between Canberra and Nowra again many years ago.

Agreed, Terry was an excellent host when we visited there last year, and despite him having a hell of a day with 45 knot-plus wind blowing in hangar doors and damaging aircraft on the base and much else happening, he still took the time to sit down with myself and James Kightly to give a fantastic interview for the WONZ Show's Wings Over Australia series. That will be released in the coming weeks, by the way. And I did notice the missing tail hook. The RAN's very own tail hooks scandal?

I had a great time at both museums, the AWM was heaving with folk; I went the day before Remembrance Day and there were people everywhere. Yes, Nowra is terrific to take photos - the raised walkway is great and I got some great walkarounds. I spoke with a woman named Janelle at front desk and a chap named Ian gave me permission to go behind the barriers. The day I went was rather grey outdoors and there were few people the whole day. Must get6 back one day and finish off the Sea Venom...

There is/was another Sea Fury in the country which has a strong connection both sides of the Tasman, last I heard being held by the Australian Government?! Does anyone know of her story?
