NZ1809 History.
Signals trainer. Assembled by De Havilland in the United Kingdom for a cost of 29,128 pounds 9 shillings and 6 pence. Ferried from United Kingdom to New Zealand by RNZAF crew departing on 01 April 1952 and arriving in New Zealand on 13 April. BOC with RNZAF at Wigram on 27 April 1952. Badly damaged in heavy night landing at Wigram following flight from Woodbourne 19 June 1958. Moved to Woodbourne for repair but was converted to instructional airframe INST179 on 15 December 1958 with No.4 TTS Woodbourne. Nose section and cockpit stored at Wigram with RNZAF Museum.

That price went up with a bump from the original $30!
If it was at the RNZAF Museum, I wonder when it left there (assumig it did since the seller is Auckland-based).

It went for $685.
Probably worth it, as it seems to be the rare open-cockpit version!

I suspect it will be moving to the Brodie collection at Rangitata Island looking at the sucessful bidder....
