I saw a C-17 flying over Albany today so I went out to Whenuapai to see it. It looks like it's from the RAF but I can't be sure (I'm about 95% sure though). It is parked right outside the No.6 Squadron hangar behind a 757. I got some photos but they are not that good so I decided not to post them. I was told by a someone that it was stopping over before going down to Antartica, But I have a tiny bit of doubt about that because I thought they went down to Christchurch before going to Antartica.

There was C-17 over Albany on long finals into Whenuapai at about 10:05am this morning, but couldn't get any details as I was trying to keep my eyes on the road!

I Can't remember perfectly, it was probably around 10:00 to 11:00 though. |

Did they turn up for the Airshow a month early or maybe delivering something ?
