Excellent photos. Good to se the Spitfire is almost ready for flight, it has been a long time coming. Ardmore looks typically murky in those pictures.

It's interesting to see the D marking goes all the way in under the fairing. I assume the fairing also has the bottom of the D added.
Is that a subtle product placement advert for Steinlager in the first shot Kerry?

Firstly to address the important issue of the beer, I'm getting paid by Hieneken for Subliminal Advertising. How many of you after looking at the picture felt like a beer? These were taken on tuesday, prop governor issues sorted, they were able to do a power run. Great Hair Dryer? It's running at high power so it must have been a thrill.

I'd fancy a Spitfire beer! No Fokker can touch it the slogan goes! I understand that Saturday will be more engines runs and the like.Note at the top pictures the oil cooler(?) fairing is still to go on .I'll update again when I have spoken to some of the staff to see what may be in store for Saturday. One really tries not to pester and always refer to Ray Mulqueens quote 'It will be ready when its ready!'

Yes ! It flew today. LOVELY!!!!
Only problem was the undercarriage failed to completely lock up so hence no flyby.Other than that flew flaulessly!! Keith Skilling said it was the nicest merlin he'd opperated! Take off time 4.25 approx NZ time.

I had to leave at 2.15pm, just as they were about to do the engine runs. Great to hear that the flight went well. Got some ground shots, port and starboard: Detail shots around the cockpit area: and the new US registration:
