There's a thread on WIX (Warbird Information Exchange) done by a sheet metal craftsman (dare I say legend!) who shows how he does some of his work. One of his current projects is returning the modified oil cooler inlets on a FG-1D Corsair back to stock condition.

Yes quite scary hearing about how unstable the aircraft was after the "mods". You'd think the guys chopping out the oil cooler structure would have gone "better keep that if they want to put it back!"
