Awful news. Javier had, I think, the largest collection of Great War aircraft outside of TVAL/Sir Peter. His aircraft have featured in Phil Makanna's GHOSTS Of The Great War Calendars.

I read about that crash in the Los Angeles Times yesterday, although they didn't mention the pilot's name.

I have a subscription to the L.A. Times and receive an e-version of the print edition (ads and all) every night around 11pm.
