Late 1999 I was a loader at Christchurch airport while I was trying to find that difficult first job as a pilot. I remember there was a Vicount that was being restored by the Air NZ old boys. I know this has now been moved to a new home in doors at Ferry mead.(excuse my spelling) What is the aeroplanes current state? Have they finnished the restoration? What of the other aircraft in the collection? They seemed to have some interesting stuff there almost 10 years ago

not much room to breath in that new hangar. At least she is inside though! Be interested to see how the cabin and flight deck look. Might do a field trip down that way sometime to check out the situation!

I recall that when I was a kid they used to open it up to the public, and if I remember correctly it had all the seats still on board in that lovely 1970s orange colour.
It looks great in it's old NAC colours.
Are you still in Christchurch, or have you betrayed the South and moved to the Pig Island? ;D

Living the international pilot lifestyle Mr vs? ;D The Viscount is a very attractive aeroplane, I'm glad they have preserved one in NAC colours here.
