It seems the lovely Nord 1002 (Bf-108 Taifun) ZK-WFI is for sale according to the classifieds of the latest Classic Wings.
I reckon it's one of the neatest little performaers on the airshow circuit. I would be saddened if it were to leave NZ.

I'd heard the same from a friend at Ohakea a couple of weeks back. That's a real shame, certainly a real affordable warbird I'd have loved to get into. After hearing Currawong let rip with her guns at Wanaka, the Taifun's butane guns don't sound so silly after all!
Will certainly be interesting to see how it progresses, and if it stays in NZ. If it does head overseas, at least we've had 12 good years with her on the circuit....which is a bit more than some other "heavy metal" types we've played host to over the years.

Twelve years? Wow, time flies.

I guess the owner got sick of being the bad guy all the time. A bit like when you're a kid and you always end up being the Indian. Not that kids can play cowboys and indians any more...
