The book hopefully is better than the reviewers captions! Interesting "Vampire" in the video!

Of interest is the photograph of the T11 crashed at Singapore . It is most likely XD380 (you can just see the start of the serial under the wing) which was flown by 14 Squadron RNZAF and crashed on landing at Tengah on 7 June 1955

Yes indeed Paul, it has the No. 14 Squadron black and white diamond checkerboard.

So - the inference is that the aircraft had been on a dawn strike?

The cover of the book looks familiar, so I tracked down who the publisher is and located the book on their website and it appears it was published in April 2014.
Which begs the question of why the Daily Mail is only getting around to reviewing the book now.
I've got a sneaking suspicion I may have seen the book for sale at Hedley's Bookshop in Masterton, in the military history section of the shop.

So - the inference is that the aircraft had been on a dawn strike? Yes that is probably correct. No. 14 Squadron used Vampires on the strikes, as well as Venoms.

But a T.11?

Yes. Barrie Reid's home movie includes footage he took on a strike from a T.11,and I believe they did indeed fly them on strikes quite a lot. The two seater was preferred by a lot of the pilots to the single seaters I'm told.
