There is some superb front lines footage here from WWI, including Bristol F2B Fighters, Allied soldiers taking German prisoners, the New Zealand Field Ambulance unit giving first aid to captured Germans, and also New Zealand Prime Minister William Massey arriving in France for a visit. Well worth a look. The pigeon loft Old Bill bus is a classic, they must have been RFC or Army homing pigeons. And the last scene where the Tommies (or maybe Kiwis?) are taking up position in a damaged barn has a really interesting feel about it, not what we usually think of the front line in France. It would make a great diorama actually. www.ngataonga.org.nz/collections/catalogue/catalogue-item?record_id=263137
