Just spent an enjoyable 40 odd minutes watching a TV documentary about Alex Henshaw.

Brilliant Baz, I likrd the bit about barrel rolling a Lanc. It's not a hi G manouver as proven by the barrel rolling of a 707 by the test pilot. He was a brilliant pilot.

Yes he was a great pilot, loved his book Sigh for a Merlin. While I think of it I have some photos of yours which I posted on here a while back. Message me your address and I'll drop them round at your convenience.

I need to watch this and get his book.
Although the title made me think this was a documentary on Peter Arnold!

Yes a very good programme, especially for the History Channel who usually churn out second rate rubbish these days.
Barrel rolling the Lancaster is not a big deal, some pilots used to loop them.

Although the title made me think this was a documentary on Peter Arnold! Well here is Peter Arnold's recent 'Mr Spitfire' video... I just watched it and loved every second (dodgy music and sound effects aside) - what a wonderful watch! I’m surprised they didn’t mention the RAAF two-seater he was flying in in the beginning was the same aircraft he got for Don Plumb - I recognised that immediately and thought it was a very cool touch!
