Hi all, I feel I'm going crazy trying to track this down!
In early 1996 - February, maybe - there was a helicopter-only airshow at Manfeild Raceway near Feilding. It was a dreamland for an 8yo rotorhead: Rick Lucas had one of everything owned by Helipro there, Toby Clark flew a BK117, two Robinson R22s flew an aerial ballet, a Squirrel raced a race car of some kind, an Iroquois (which I think was the one that crashed fatally in Wellington a few years later) did a car drop, and there were a bunch of other displays besides. The participating machines were all parked inside the racetrack for static display before the show, and at the end five or six types flew a "stack" in front of the grandstand. It was a brilliant event and from memory there was a pretty decent crowd.
But I can't find any mention of it anywhere online. Dad borrowed a friend's camcorder so he could video it for posterity/me and I'll get it on YouTube once my VCR cooperates, but in the meantime I can't find anything. No videos, no photos, not even memories or print ads.
Does anyone in the WONZ family have any photos of this event they'd like to share? I really would love to see them.

I’ve finally got my VHS-capture-laptop setup running again and I’m about to put Dad’s aforementioned home video of this event through. Hopefully I’ll have it uploaded later today.

Amazingly an almost-25-year-old home video is having some playback and quality issues! Think I may finally have it (famous last words) and I will post a link here and in the Aviation Films section as soon as it’s committed to YouTube.
