Does anyone know anything about E.P.V. Jones, Royal Air Force?
I came across this article from the WAIKATO INDEPENDENT, 14 NOVEMBER 1947:
I am interested to know if he settled here in Cambridge?

OF PERSONAL INTEREST
New Arrivals From England Re-Unite Family
MRS Jones, her son and daughter, Mr. E.P.V. Jones and Miss C. Jones, together with their inseparable pal, a cross-bred terrier, are new arrivals in the Cambridge district from Sydney and originally from Birmingham, England. Mrs and Miss Jones left England on July 10 and flew in various stages to Rose Bay, Sydney, and arrived in New Zealand on October 27 from Sydney by Tasman Airways Flying Boat.
Mr E.P.V. Jones was demobilised before leaving Home, after five and a-half years in the Royal Air Force, the latter portion of that time being spent as a member of the occupation force in Germany. It was in a camp that Mr Jones came across the little terrier. There was a mutual liking and so faithful was the terrier that his new-found master had him shipped home to Birmingham. Eight weeks before Mr Jones left by air for Australia, the terrier was despatched by boat for Sydney; there he was eventually picked up by his master and brought by boat to Wellington. The whole “family” are now united and are residing with Mrs Jones’ nephew, Mr Vic. Shuter, of Leamington.
During the war, Miss Jones was engaged in general office, work and she and her mother experienced all the hardships of bombing and war restrictions.
Mr Jones saw overseas service for the R.A.F. When asked about their reception in New Zealand, Mrs and Miss Jones were quick to reply that everybody seemed friendly and kind; They had looked forward to coming to New Zealand and were more than content to make a permanent home in this Dominion. They did appear to make light of their experiences during the war years at Home.
