Not posted here for a while but felt the need to post a pic of Duxfords latest resident Tom Blair’s FW190 (taken 27th December 2006), Closer view of the artwork that is creating a stir over at the Flypast site Also in the hangar was Tom Blairs Buchon,

Awesome photos! Is that the Flugwerk FW190? A Buchon and a FW190, what a great pair to own.

Youre right there is people complaning about the paint sheme, and I dont know what they are complaining about, the aircraft looks great. If there was a 190 imported into new Zealand it wouldnt worry me if it was painted pink as I would just love to see one fly and may have to go to Duxford to see it. Good on the owner investing in an aircraft like that for all to see in the air

Thanks for the photos Len. It is a nice machine all right.
I wonder, had this FlugWerk production line been producing such beauties a few years ago, might we have seen one at Wanaka? I know that Sir Tim seemed keen to get one flying, along with a Bf110 and Bf109. Wouldn't that have been amazing to see with the Spitfire and Hurricane. Oh well. I need an alternate reality machine...

I think it looks great - all I can say to those "Anoraks" mumbling over the authenticity of the paintwork (its a Replica anyway...) is " what colour have you painted YOUR FW190?"

Great pix of the Fw190 at Duxford. Has the museum changed much since 2002? I am planning 2 weeks in England in June and just might go back for a third visit.
My trip will cover Biggin Hill, Cosford RAF Air display and Kemble display. Big hope is that Vulcan XH 558 will be flying before then. A fast-taxy by one of the Bruntingthorpe EE Lightnings is slated. A VIP ride in Lancaster "Just Jane" at East Kirkby-Lincs has been booked... the only Wednesday op in June.
The camera should get a workout.

Best of luck with the Vulcan. There is NOTHING, and I mean, NOTHING, as impressive as the sight and sound of a Vulcan take-off; unless it is four of them 'scrambled' and breaking to all points of the compass as soon as the wheels unstick.

Thanks Phil, I expect to collapse in a rhapsody of delight at the sight and sound of XH558 departing. I have been following her progress for over 10 years.

If you've got the time whilst you're over here, a visit to Old Warden is well worth the journey. We've got an afternoon display on the 3rd June and an evening display on 16th June.

Hi Phil,
Yes. They predict that April will see the first test flights and they are aiming to be flying for 17th June.
Hi Robbo, Yes, 16th is slated on my itinerary for Old Warden's evening display. Thanks for the tip. The display on 3rd is possible but Biggin Hill is also on so I have to juggle my time.

Peter, sorry for the confusion in names. If you spot me on the 16th (I'm one of the liveside photo/security team at OW) you're welcome to a flightline tour.
