Small world! That was a great day, Lancaster passes were amazing as was the P-47 display by Pete Kynsey. With such a big, heavy, and fast aeroplane you could see how careful he needed to be while putting on such an energetic display like that, is not something you see that often. 43545443 by Gavin Conroy, on Flickr

Nice Gavin, clearer than mine. This trip highlighted to me that my camera just doesn't cut it in the real world of airshow photography. I need an upgrade. I have the lens, but now I need the top of the line camera to take full advantage of it.

Nice Gavin, clearer than mine. This trip highlighted to me that my camera just doesn't cut it in the real world of airshow photography. I need an upgrade. I have the lens, but now I need the top of the line camera to take full advantage of it. These days I keep my 1D cameras for air 2 air, all of the airshow photos were taken with my old Canon 7D II and a lot better gear out there than that. On this trip I struggled getting exposure right in the air and on the ground as the sun was so harsh and it seemed to affect the AF lock on, the first half of the Shuttleworth show I struggled and could see that on the camera screen but once I started using better exposure settings and compensating for the harsh light things got a lot better. Loved that Thunderbolt display, pity it was not flown at Legends. _09A0349 by Gavin Conroy, on Flickr
