In WWII the RNZAF Airmen were referred to by soldiers and sailors as the Blue Orchids (a type of plant so rare that when found they are pampered and looked after better than any other species). It was no myth, the RNZAF had better food, better beds, better barracks, better conditions all round, and better pay too i think.
This kind of continues the legend, perhaps taking it a little further. Great stuff
