These days you can easily get quite good copies or prints from slide negatives.
I am very much just an amatuer in photo processing, but
Here's what I do.
1. Scan the negative in high resolution and crop the scan white space to get full page image.
2. Open the scan in a photo program that has the Invert Colour feature.
3. Invert the colours.
4. Use Auto-correct to enhance the result.
