He certainly made his mark in many areas of aviation however, and this is my opinion only, I think that all his other achievements were overridden by the senseless loss of the Kee-Bird where 'bravado' and lack of care and attention to detail were the norm not the exception. This was just stupidity in its highest form and there are many things that were never told about that "recovery". What a waste !
