My brief tour of Nowra and HARS

I did take a couple of photos on my return leg from Temora. We stopped past Nowra first.




Our A4s are in good hands:

Funny but true story about the Huey Cobra:

The rear pilot's cockpit has an ash tray:

But the front seater doesn't get one.  I guess Bell and the US Army wanted their gunners to be twitchy and bad tempered.
The collection of mostly airworthy and a few not so airworthy aircraft are almost as impressive as the stories we got from the volunteers:

I didn't get a chance to go through Connie again as they were closing up for the day and were in a hurry to boot us out. I'd seen her in 2007 so I didn't bother to take any photos. And in case you were wondering, Felix the Catalina and the Caribou had beaten us there, they were being post-flighted after their journey back from Temora that morning. I didn't take any photos of them because there are plenty from Temora floating around.

As I said in the Temora thread, both of these establishments are a must visit if you are in NSW with a rental car and time to spare.  Well worth it.

To be precise, it was Wagga to Gundagai (coffee break) to Nowra to Albion Park to Sydney in a day. That trip was much more interesting than a straight shot from Sydney to Wagga via the Hume and Sturt highways. I did a full review of the Mustang for a mate whose a car nut, that's an entire thread on it's own!
