Thanks to the digitising and sharing on Papers Past of the wartime years of the Waikato Independent, Cambridge's local paper, I have now found a load of new airmen that should hopefully all be on the Wings Over Cambridge website.
Can anyone please assist with info on the following airmen?
From 15 DECEMBER 1941 under appeals "Sharp, A.G., Air Force recruit, appeal lodged by employer, G.L. Sharp, for deferring service. Dismissed."
So did A.G. Sharp actually join the RNZAF? What can people add about him please?

From 5 JANUARY 1942
In a review of the first six months of 1940, ot has this entry for 8th of January 1940: "Ian James Shaw, son of Mr W. H. Shaw, of Monavale, among Air Force personnel taken prisoner after sinking of Rangitane."
(Monavale is one of the country areas within the Cambridge District).

The passenger list for the Rangitane has him as one of the three RNZAF radar team members, so probably was taken back to Germany on the Orion. As one of the other three was a relation, my father would have more details on the trip back to Germany etc if you need detailed info on the journey.

Hi everyone, I have been piecing together the history of F/O John Alfred Harvie 407672, a New Zealander in the Royal Australian Air Force. He lived here in Cambridge for two and a half years. He died in an air accident on the 4th of March 1942, but I have not found the details and circumstances of the crash. Does anyone here know: - The type of aircraft? - The aircraft serial number and codes? - The place of the accident? - The circumstances of the accident? - Was he pilot in charge, or a passenger? - Where had the aircraft departed from and what was the destination? I have pieced together the following on him so far. Any additions and corrections would be most appreciated please. www.cambridgeairforce.org.nz/John_Alfred_Harvie.htmlCheers, Dave

Blimey. I went to add Raymond Hill to my website and found he's already there. I have so many airmen on there now I am starting to forget them.
