For those that are interested we are doing a poster showcasing some of the many Hughes 500s that have graced the Kiwi skies. Working with some of the great photographers here on this board and other places I am getting a collection of various 500 photos and then my designer is creating the illustrations. Here are the first few, will post each new one as it's done. Might bring back some memories for everyone.

What a brilliant idea! Very good renditions. Brings back memories of my years in Taupo during the height of the venison recovery. Particularly like the late Joe Keely's HPG. Do you have any of the late ZK-HSO (in which I flew several times with Rusty Nairn, and Toby Clark) and Sid Lane's ZK-HYY? My favourite model chopper by far!

Excellent idea Ned. I hope it goes well for you. Were the big letters some sort of industry code for easy company recognition during the deer wars, or something like that?

WARO Letters, all the operators who did venison recovery had to have a letter on the side. Was "supposed" to stop poaching Check your messages

There are stories of folks who would use gaffer tape to change their ID letters, and others of them being applied to panels that could be replaced or covered with a different letter...
Ned, I'd seen some but not all of these on Facebook. I'm overjoyed to see HLL on there! As a kid she was "my" 500, the one I saw the most of locally.
I imagine it's too late for requests, but how about HUT pre-disintegration? And I'm sure you have HOT in the classic stripes scheme?
Amazing work. I got little choked up at this. Beautiful. And I think this is about the first time I've seen all of HPG in colour.

Zac, did you ever see the starboard side of PG tips? Also a real work of art.
