Nice photos Errol.
Does anyone know why the DC-3 wasn't part of the proceedings?

Because the DC-3 folks are in Britain for the big Daks Over Normandy event. Although sadly Jess has ended up in hospital there

Great shots Errol. Gutted I did not make it up this time but I'd not have wanted to be i the cold wind with the damned cold I have right now. I love that shot of all the aircraft approaching behind the Seasprite, that's cool! I was about 30 seconds behind the Piper and looks like I just missed out on getting in the group photo... The Yak is doing about 20 knots more than the Cessnas and Pipers on approach and I didn’t want to crowd them. The foreshortening due to the long lens is a great effect. Nice work Errol.

My old man lives in England, must find out if he managed to go see them all take off. Here's a nice clip if anyone's interested: I watched this and you see in the beginning starting her engines a very rare Non-C47. This is the Russian built Lisunov Li-2. At first glance it looks exactly like a C47/DC3 but the extra window behind the sliding cockpit windows is the give away. I think this is the only one flying.

I was very pleased (but a little confused) to see photos of the Li-2 arriving at Duxford. The engine cowls are also a giveaway when trying to spot the difference.

HA-LIX is Hungarian based and yes, the only airworthy Li-2, a super rare machine indeed and very cool to see it there with the others.
