Was fortunate a couple of days back to visit the Australian Vintage Aviation Society (TAVAS) museum at Caboolture Airport north of Brisbane, Queensland. TAVAS Website. www.tavas.com.au Friendly people, nothing roped off so you get up nice and close, all the aeroplanes below, apart from the obvious, wingless DR1, are airworthy. Bristol Fighter Have always wondered about so would be interested why the design incorporated a gap between the Fuselage bottom to the lower wing? The Eindecker’s engine made in New Zealand. The D.VIII is powered by an original 160hp Gnome that was found in Florida powering an airboat! The Neuiport replica is for sale. Wish I'd asked about the interesting paint scheme, sorry can’t tell the story of this DR1?
