Some great stuff there Grant. Took me a while to figure out the French-registered Dak (with the very tiny marks under tailplane). David D

Hi Dave, there were around 25 Daks at Carpiquet, but only three of them flew and even then just take offs and landings. There was no flying display at all; nothing of the scheduled flying took place because of the weather, so most of the day was spent wandering around looking at the rows of Daks and photographing airliners coming and going. It was a pretty miserable day actually. The weather was rough and around mid afternoon our group headed to the terminal and got warm coffee and food. There were only two food outlets out on the field, neither of which sold hot drinks. There was also only 8 portaloos for an estimated over 5 thousand people! Needless to say there were even queues for the toilets in the pax terminal! Europe 78 Europe 83

Yeah, I got a copy at Carpiquet. It was the same mag as sold at the DX event. I met a few people who went to both events and all said DX was terrific. Still, it was really nice to see the Daks together, despite the day being what it was. I got some nice static shots with the brooding weather. Europe 72 I got to see D-Day Doll and That's All Brother at the Paris Airshow, which was neat, especially since the planned events in Berlin never took place. D-Day Doll That's All Brother i
