I believe there are 2 air campers flying with Toyota power JQN and PRB. PRB was the first REAL airplane I ever got to ride in. With a model A engine I can remember cars passing us! That was the beginning of a long aviation addiction and a life changing moment!

That was the beginning of a long aviation addiction and a life changing moment! I had a hunch there were a few.Luckily just after posting this I ran into a very nice Gentleman by the name of Gert van kruiningen through the amazing internet who has built a very nice Bleriot XI replica. He told me his friend and test pilot Evan had a pietenpol with the 4y engine. Guess I"ll get all the info i need as he has promised to get it from Evan.Evan seems to be a know all person.
I presume when you got to ride in PRB it had a Ford A engine. That engine has a really nice sound to it.The air camper has an elementary look to it with very mild performance but it can be homebuilt and it has great personality.
My first ride in a real airplane was in a DHC-2 Beaver!

No, I flew in a Pietenpol near dusk in the USA once.....a very memorable flight. It was magic with the setting sun, dark shadows and the cool air. Big bbq after with great friends at the airfield. Very memorable, so calm and easy, like a gentleman should
