Ando can you divulge who the Classic display driver is? Was curious what they’d do about a dedicated display pilot with 2ocu winding down. Seems from what I’ve seen it’s a/c from 75sqn at Tindal that have the Classic gig at ADL?

Still blowing a bit here. Weather off and on. Right no sunshine and a few clouds looking out of the hotel window. Lots of practice today. P8 and Romeo Seahawk ver nice co-ordinated display. HARS PBY, Orion and P2V looking great. Their C.47 stuck at Mildura. Lots of bad weather (mostly wind) between Adelaide and the east coast. Temora's machines leaving O Dark 30 tomorrow but should be here 0830. Other Vintage and warbirds spread around Adelaide waiting for tomorrow to get in.. Programme looking great.

@markjstorer: Tremendous #avgeek day at the RAAF Edinburgh airshow; great static displays and a thunderous flypast from an F-35 with good access to F-18 pilots and all three variants on the ground. My fave was Flying Officer callsign "twink" passing over inverted at high speed.

It was big ! Obviously being in the commentary box there was no chance for photography but I am hoping that some of the Forumites who may have been there are able to post.. Onward to 2021 and the 100th Anniversary of the RAAF

The RAAF Official highlights video must have been fairly widely shared with the local media as segments of it were used in most fo the major network news reports last night interspersed with the reaction of the crowd on the ground. Roll on WDU 2020!! The RAAF Centenary 2021!!

Nothing like positive comments.......... I have redacted two racial comments......
clayton E 12 hours ago This airshow was a total flop, nothing like airshows from years past, that had many different aircraft flying, not just that ugly new f35 heap, or the boring roulettes...not to mention the ridiculous ticket costs, it was like $10 a car last time, now you have to stuff around getting tickets from ticketmaster at $30 for 1 person...not to mention all the (...) & (...) everywhere!!!
You can please some of the people some of the time but you cannot please a dickhead !
Look forward to any comments at all ref the commentary from anyone who was present ! It all helps for the next one.

Ando, via the RAAF FB page and their post event feedback and comments you have at least one fan via the following post:
"I would like to say a special thank you to all those that undertook the commentary, they were so interesting to listen too and would love to know if a copy is available?" RAAF said they would see.
Some negative comments about the shuttle bus arrangements, queues at gates to get in, queues for toilets, limited number of food stalls, but overwhelmingly positive about the aircraft involved and the variety of aircraft. Given it is the first airshow Edinburgh has hosted for some years, lots of lessons learnt for the other upcoming airshows planned for 2021.

It was 100 years from the Vimy to the 5th Generation of jet fighters. Last show at Edinburgh was 12 years ago and the base is almost unrecognisable from that time. It is sprawling and also hosts a variety of army and armored units (as the tank road attests). Due to security with P8s etc, there are not all that many places where people can be funneled for parking and entry/exit points so there were 'pinch points' for bus and pax transport but that is a limitation of the base. No military base was/is designed to cater for airshows or open days so it is use the space to is best ability. The show team did a fantastic job pulling everything together but even they acknowledge areas where tweeks are required. Remember, this is a "lessons to be learned" for the 2021 100th Anniversary which I believe, from info now, is going to be huge. Dave, comment from the Channel 9 site. Johnnyfalcon.....think he/she may have been referring to the mid 1960s show..........

Onward to 2021 and the 100th Anniversary of the RAAF Do we know what the airshow program is for 2021 ? There is obviously Avalon and I've heard a big show at Amberley but are there other shows planned at other bases? Someone also mentioned the Red Arrows .

AIRCDR Sawade's team will start the planning for 2021 as soon as the wash-up from Edinburgh is complete. Lots of rumours about what will happen where and when but until a few more meeting have been completed all just supposition at present. Whatever happens..... it shall be a very busy time !
