Think you should do an illustrated book on this build, yes I know it would have a limited market "P40 nuts" but I'd buy it, brilliant!

Hmmmm.....following the rebuild of NZ2423, maybe I should have chosen to build a P51 instead. Looks like a much simpler design.

Slowly but surely.....under the weather from the first covid jab, what better way to recover than tinkering in the workshop all weekend.

Just beautiful. I generally only Like rather than post a comment on each update as I'd run out of superlatives!
This would be a dream project and it's utterly fascinating to watch it coming together.

Ditto, but as always a question will the gear retract, looks like it could be operational? The plan is to have as many of the moving part operational. The oleo leg has a spring instead of what appears on the drawings to be compressed air or most likely compress nitrogen. The retraction piston is hydraulically operated, but model pneumatic rams are way out of proportion. The initial build will have a static setup, unless I can convince the procurement officer to release funds for a miniature lathe.

The material used for fuselage frames strikes me as quite thin, how does it hold up to handling during construction?
