Not surprising. However it looks as if Temora's Sabre will be airworthy by then, given the poster. With the RAAF's Centenary next year and the lack of any airshow activity, 2021 could be a big year, economic fallout pending.

I had heard 'rumblings' from various people that I know associated with the RAAF's Centenary arrangements that an assessment of all events and activities associated with the public celebration of the RAAF Centenary were being very seriously reviewed to move all major events to the second half of 2021. They had already had indications from the Avalon Airshow organisors that to hold the airshow in its usual timeframe next year would likely be too early to get the hoped for overseas participation and health clearances from authorities for such a major public event. Moving the event to the second half of the year was certainly being considered, but they needed to identify a proposed date that did not clash with a range of events - sporting grand finals and similar - in the October-November timeframe, and also to look at the weather history for the proposed rescheduled dates and likelyhood of favourable airshow weather.
This new date will be very interesting, especially if the planned other major event, a Centenary Airshow at RAAF Amberley which was planned for around mid to late October also goes ahead. So potentially within about a four week timeframe there would be two major airshows in Australia - one in southeast and one in northeast. This also might encourage some of the requested overseas participants to stay on in the region between the two airshows.
Will be interesting to see how things play out between now and then.

Calum,
There is a desire amongst those involved in arranging the flying side of the RAAF Centenary celebrations to have the maximum number of relevant ex-RAAF airframes and types airworthy for the RAAF Centenary in 2021. In particular the Sabre which is a particularly unique RAAF type is one they want, and the TAM version being with its RAAF ownership and TAM operation, plus specific airframe history in previous anniversary events, is one they want back airworthy for 2021. A solution was identified for the Sabre ejection seat issue and was planned to be implemented if the correct technical and administrative sign offs could be achieved from all the relevant parties involved. So I think you will find that the inclusion of the Sabre on the Avalon poster is more than just aspirational.

TAM could also clash with their airshow usually occuring at the same time. Either going to be a great time for airshows or a pick and choose.
On another note I've got to thinking about what RAAF types are currently around but non airworthy or exist outsude of the country. Could there be others that could be represented by then? A non exhaustive list -
DH-9 DH-50 Hawker Demon (possible) Wackett (certainly possible) Anson (please!!!) Beaufort (maybe) Beaufighter Battle Oxford Vengeance Havoc DH-86 Junkers W34 (?) Mitchell (very slim) Kingfisher (maybe) Dornier Do24 (very slim) Buffalo (no) Mosquito (π

) P39 (maybe) P38 (no) P43 (no) PV1 (no) Lancaster (πππ) Lodestar (?) Shrike/Helldiver (no) Norseman (unlikely) Liberator (no) Vampire (definitely) Bristol Freighter Canberra (Yes) Sabre (more than likely) Otter (?) Mirage (no) Macchi (?) F111 (Neverπ‘) HS748 (?) Porter (yes) Nomad (send one back?) PC9 (?)
A few could be added to a line up.

But that doesn't change the fact that at the moment that Sabre doesn't fly. So that poster is cleary aspirational. Whilst they may have identified a solution I haven't heard how far that has progressed. If the solution is what I think it is then a fair bit of money/engineering will be required.
