Not a thing of great beauty, but we have known that all along. Nevertheless the secret of success must be in its capabilities, its reliability and performance, and sometimes in just being available. I guess we will soon be learning what it is good for, and how well the Navy has framed their specification for this very large and presumably very capable addition to the fleet. David D

David D Eye of the beholder... but agreed of "the secret of success must be in its capabilities" there was extensive testing and design changes here there because these tests. The Navy can only do so much asking for capabilities. all comes down to the NZG and treasury if they want to pay for that capability or not etc... but considering there is also a bit of new tech on her and technically we could of got 2 Tide class tankers (but with less capabilities, ie; no winterisan features, reinforced hull to polar class 6, standard bow etc ) for the same price...

The ability to create 100,000L of fresh water every day must be impressive for humanitarian missions.
