Small world. My father was Royal Auxiliary Air Force as a ground radio operator was he was a peace time registered ham radio operator. As described in the article he was called up on 1st or 2nd Sep and was posted to RAF Detling in support of 500 Sqn. After seeing the film Battle of Britain on one occasion he opened up on his experiences of the battle. The bombing described in the article was his day of terror.
He also explained the uniquely modified gun armed Anson.
