I've just completed a couple of CAAC aircraft in 1/72, both from Special Hobby. Wirraway and Boomerang, both derived from the same North American NA-16, BT-9 design (although the Boomerang via the Wirraway) as the Harvard! The Wirraway wears the marks of an aircraft flown by No.4 Squadron RAAF which actually shot down a Zero over New Guinea in 1942. Fun but challenging builds, particularly the Wirraway which had very bad instructions, required heaps of extra fettling of cockpit frames and location pins for the cockpit floor being in wrong locations! I have included an RNZAF Harvard for the 'family tree' IMG_1842 by Harry Follas, on Flickr IMG_1855 by Harry Follas, on Flickr IMG_1850 by Harry Follas, on Flickr IMG_1845 by Harry Follas, on Flickr IMG_1858 by Harry Follas, on Flickr IMG_1832 by Harry Follas, on Flickr IMG_1856 by Harry Follas, on Flickr IMG_1833 by Harry Follas, on Flickr

Great job. Harvard NZ1078 looks very nice.

Great seeing the Harvard and Wirraway together and the subtle differences, wingtips, fin and cowl area, nice models.

The Wirraway also had the geared R-1340 and 3 bladed prop, a similar engine & prop setup seen on the postwar Grumman Mallard
