I hope this gets some nice calm weather for the WWI display. There's a lot to see in the WWI collection now!

Now I'm even more disappointed I can't get there. Fantastic news the Po-2 is done, not to mention the SS D.IV!

I am very much looking forward to this event tomorrow. I hope to catch up with lots of you there. It will hopefully be a lot happier than the last airshow there in March (which was a terrific show, but we all learned that day that Wanaka was cancelled and we were all doomed to be locked down within days).

A very good day. Just the right amount of sunshine, and the wind co-operated. The Po-2 went u/s and neither this nor the Albatros took to the air, but the other WW1 types put on a great display. Also nice to catch up with quite a few familiar faces and one or two new ones.

Another great show put on by the dedicated organisers, volunteers, engineers and pilots. The WW1 display and the debut of the T28 were highlights for me. It was fantastic to see and hear Nick's Alvis Leonides running twice too. Great to catch up with you too Dave.
Well done to all involved.

Can someone please provide details of that Spitfire - where it’s from, where it lives, does it fly, etc.

It is Spitfire Mk. XVIe TB252. It is being restored by Avspecs who have had it as an on again, off again project through various owners for many years. It nears completion, and has had engine runs, retraction tests, etc, so a return to flight is imminent. Once the test flying is done, it is off to its owner Charles Somers in Sacramento, California, USA. There it will join some other Avspecs restorations, Mosquito PZ474, Spitfire Vb 'Marion' and the P-40C, etc.

When TB252 takes flight before Christmas she will fly for the first time sporting full span wings. Joe
