Located at the former RAF Winthorpe, Notts, the Newark Air Museum is another one of these great private concerns run by a bunch of dedicated collectors. The collecotion has grown enormously over the years and with a fair amount of ground belonging to the museum, expansion is sure to follow. Vulcan XM594 was one of the Vulcans with its in-flight refuelling system restored for possible use in for Operation Black Buck during the Falklands War, although it never made it as far as Ascension Island, from where the raids were flown. NAM 06 Canberra with an unusual proboscis for radar training. NAM 10 This Hastings took part in the Cod Wars, disputes between the UK and Iceland over fishing rights! NAM 15 A bouncing bomb. NAM 31 Aussie Monospar VH-UTH undergoing long term restoration. NAM 40 De Havilland Sea Vixen. NAM 50 MiG-23. NAM 59 Supermarine Swift with Fairey Fireflash missile on its rather complex loading trolley. NAM 73 British Aerospace vertical take off replacement for the Harrier investigated in the 80s. NAM 82 Folland Gnat and HS Dominie. NAM 85 Fuselage of Avro Ashton research jet.
