Yesterday we managed to get the rest of the framework up and screwed into place. A bit more nogging to do and then we can start skinning the whole section. I see that some other volunteers have been busy working on the inside of the turret and are making a mannequinn to lie inside to give people an idea of just how cramped it was. The breech of the guns were right beside the gunners ears so they must have been deaf for ages afterwards. 200422 (1) by Mike Feisst, on Flickr 200422 (2) by Mike Feisst, on Flickr

Marty has visited again and hand painted the rear fuselage insignia and he had it done in no time at all. It is starting to look real smart. The fuselage surround to the turret is now complete and we should be able to get it painted this week. 200522 1 by Mike Feisst, on Flickr 200522 2 by Mike Feisst, on Flickr 060522 (1) by Mike Feisst, on Flickr

The Texas Tornado nose art is a nice tribute too! Well done everyone. The hangar cat looks very satisfied with the efforts.

We had a big 'do' in the hangar over the weekend so all the aircraft had to be moved out to make room so I took the opportunity to take a couple of photos of the B-17 with no aircraft in front of it. 220622 (2) by Mike Feisst, on Flickr 220622 (4) by Mike Feisst, on Flickr
