Last December we had planned to hold the first of what we hoped would become an annual event - The Fly-in Scotsman! Unfortunately Mother Nature had other plans! Rangitata Island became a true island again, as flood waters surrounded our property. Luckier than many of our neighbours we were high and dry but road access was cut off and the airstrip got a bit soggy!
So, this weekend we will try again. So feel free to fly-in or drive-in to this event. Enjoy the fellowship of our aviation friends on Saturday and Sunday. Pop in for a visit or stay over - there is plenty of space for tents on site. Russell makes a mean pot of porridge and we will have the BBQ cranked up for sausage sizzle lunches. Pizzas are on the menu for Saturday night - we will simply drive up to Ashburton and deliver them back here for you. Of course you are most welcome to BYO food if you prefer. So fingers crossed for great weather. We hope to see you here.
