This event was held on Monday 28th December, and was able to proceed thanks to a (temporary) lull in the strong winds that have haunted us for the past few weeks. I was able to fly 172 ZK-JMC across from Ardmore to the event, and there was quite a good turnout, both of local aircraft and the visitors. The most interesting exhibit for the locals was Vans RV-12 ZK-MBB/3, the latest joint build by the local school and the aero club. while the Airdrome Aeroplanes Fokker Dr-1 Replica ZK-CCO/2 of local Peter Walton also drew the crowds. There were a number of aircraft there that I have not seen before, among them this Sonex Aircraft LLC Waiex ZK-WYX. Although it has been in existence since 2013 apparently it did not fly until 2018 The Nicollier HN700 Menestrel II ZK-TBS is also a rarely-seen bird R22 ZK-HDT/5 spent the day on a trailer A bit of a sad sight was ex-Air Auckland Navajo ZK-JGA Over in the visiting aircraft park was Just Aircraft SuperSTOL ZK-DJG/2 in from Te Awamutu while Hamilton-based Eurocopter EC 120 B ZK-IKF arrived in the early afternoon We travelled back home via Pauanui. There were several aircraft there for the Christmas break, among them Tiger ZK-BLM which departed back to Matamata. All in all, a pleasant outing.

JGA suffered quite a bit of damage in a bird strike incident at Whitianga, unsure what the plan is for it in the long term.
