What a brilliant piece of history.
Clearly filmed over several flights, they took off in the dark from Wellington, landed at Auckland in the morning light and got off in the dark!
Who were the crew? The stewardess mentioned Captain Kirk?
Captain Tom Mounsey, who cut the cake, was a wartime RNZAF bomber pilot (Hudsons and I think from memory Venturas).

The Captain was indeed Bill Kirk and the First Officer was Paul Kelly, both of whom are now deceased. I understand there were four hostesses on board including Hilary Skeine (deceased), Margaret Don and Sarah Geary. At this stage I do not have the fourth name. The aircraft was Boeing 737 ZK-NAP.

Here is another wee Gem...Last Boeing 737 200 flight with Air New Zealand...includes flypast and I think the 'fire-hose salute'.

Both are now deceased. The video you are referring to, though very good, is not directly related to the thread's topic.

Hi planewriting Not sure what you are referring to ‘Re video is not thread topic’ but in the ‘last flight video’ the FO is Murray Wood. Paul - if I remember correctly - was an F-27 Captain at that time.

Paul Kelly was my father. He was an absolute legend snd our family had the best life and a very lucky one thanks to Dad. Lesotho, LA, KL, Japan, Tonga... Mum (Chris) met him when they were working for NAC and she was a hostess. Dad unfortunately passed away in 2019 and was living in Whitianga. After 'retiring' he became a board member of the Thames Council and a JP. Mum and Dad lived in Matarangi for a while after moving from Auckland full time. They built some shops there and he had his little shop that he loved. 'Kelly's Hire nd Hardware'. Sarah (Kelly) his daughter

Sassy - think everyone that flew with NAC/AirNZ has a ‘Paul Kelly’ story. Great guy and a real character.Sorry to hear he has passed away.
Incidently, referring to the excellent F-27 footage the FO, Ted Wilde, passed away last year.
